The Sage 50 Dropdown Editor requires that Sage 50 Accounting is already installed on your computer. This is necessary for the software to work properly, as it relies on Sage 50’s system and data. If Sage 50 isn’t installed, the Dropdown Editor won’t function as expected. To use the editor, please ensure Sage 50 is set up on your computer first.
Our application is installed using a standard Windows setup program. The installation is designed to apply only to the current active user, meaning it won’t be available to other users on the same computer by default. If multiple users need access to the software, each individual must run the installation while logged into their own Windows account.
You will receive the installation file either through a download link sent via email or directly from a DataSoft team member.
Starting the installation process
To begin the installation, first locate the setup file named SetupDropdownEditor.exe on your computer. This file may be in your Downloads folder if you downloaded it from an email or website, or in another directory where you saved it.
Once you’ve found the file, double-click SetupDropdownEditor.exe to start the installation process. A security prompt may appear, asking for confirmation to proceed—click Yes or Allow to continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You may need to accept the software license agreement, choose an installation location, and configure any required settings. After installation is finished, you can launch the program from your desktop or the Start menu.
