Unable to open database. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. Socket Exception
Sage 50 or Peachtree Accounting
The Pervasive PSQL Workstation Engine (the simple database engine that Sage 50 / Peachtree uses) is not started or is not listening to any request. To fix the issue do the one of the following:
- Reboot the computer. After rebooting give the computer a little time to startup its services.
- Make sure everyone is out of Sage 50 or Peachtree (which they should because the database is not working). Use the Task Manager to End Task for Database Service Manager. Then try starting Sage 50 or Peachtree. This will restart the Database Service manager. Below is what the process looks like in the Task Manager.
