Report Components

Report Components

Reports in Articles are built from components; the individual elements that make up a report's layout and behaviour. Components include data tables, charts, labels, calculated fields, and more. Each component is configured through its properties and can be connected to your data.

Some components are unique to Articles and extend the standard report designer with additional capabilities tailored for Sage 50 businesses.

REST API

The REST API report type allows Articles to pull data from external web services and display it alongside your other report data. If a service provides a web API — such as a shipping carrier, CRM, or online store — Articles can connect to it, retrieve data, and include that data in your reports.

No programming experience is required to configure a basic REST API connection. Authentication methods including API keys and OAuth 2.0 are supported, with QuickBooks Online available as a pre-configured option.

Page by Page

Page by Page reports deliver report output one page at a time by email. Instead of sending a single large report to all recipients at once, Articles splits the report and sends each recipient only the pages that are relevant to them; for example, each salesperson receives only their own figures.

Delivery is automatic and runs on your configured schedule, making Page by Page ideal for regular performance reports, statements, and summaries that go to multiple people.

Maps

Articles can display geographic data visually using map-based report components. Data such as customer locations, delivery zones, or regional sales figures can be plotted directly onto a map, making it easier to spot patterns and communicate information at a glance.

Maps are configured like any other report component and connect to your existing data without requiring a separate mapping service account.
